Established in 1970. The original owner of Nino's Pizzeria opened up this location roughly 30 years ago. Two additional locations were opened, one of which still exists on 59th Ave and Peoria. The original owner sold the 59th ave and 99th ave locations as separate business. So, although they share the common name of "Nino's Pizza" the restaurants are no longer associated with one another on a business level. The 99th ave and Olive location has only switched hands two times. Once purchased from the original owner by a woman known as Gail who, after 19 yrs of ownership sold the business to it's current owner Chirssy. Chirssy has been owner/operator of Nino's for over 7 years (as of 2013). People come from all over the west valley to visit this famous restaurant. Some tell stories about coming in during their child hood and revisiting recently. Others have been coming in consistently for over 15 years. With over 20 years of experience selling tacos in Mexico, the Torres family decided to start their own taco stand in Peoria, Arizona in April 2016. Blessed with a lot of community support, the first brick and mortar location was opened in Glendale in 2017! Currently, there are 3 locations in the West valley, 2 in the East valley and 1 in Central Phoenix. We serve authentic Mexican food. The taco was always meant for the worker on the run; an individual that needed to eat quickly but also needed it to be affordable. That is who we are. We pride ourselves in keeping our menu simple with only two meats and now a veggie option. Nothing is ever frozen. Our salsas, guacamole, and marinades are made daily. We never use concentrate for our horchata or Jamaica. Instead we soak our rice with whole cinnamon sticks overnight and blend the next day and we steep our hibiscus flowers to make our Jamaica- it’s a very labor intensive process but we do it because we want to give you an authentic experience when you eat with us. Back in January 1999, we vacationed in Arizona at my brother's house in Arrowhead. The best Gyros in Arizona. We also have Chicago Hotdogs and Burgers. Our Salads are made fresh to order. All our sauces and marinades are made from scratch. Established in 2013. We came from Chicago in June and took over this wonderful restaurant. We are true Chicagoans. Our Gyros, Hotdogs, Italian Sausage, and Gonella Rolls come from Chicago. Come in and let us know if you are from Chicago. Our family brought all the best from Chicago and moved it to Arizona! With humble beginnings, we opened up the doors to Mercer's Restaurant in 1987. With a baby in tow, who is now managing the restaurant, we were excited to make home-cooked meals for our neighboring friends. We were welcomed with open arms by the community and have been able to continue serving you because of all the people that help make Mercer's Restaurant the enjoyable and friendly restaurant it is today. From the cooks to the dishwashers to the waitress who greets you at the door, we are here to help you have an enjoyable and relaxing meal. When you step into our father-son restaurant, we want you to feel like you are pulling up a chair at your best friend's table, with a comforting environment and even more comforting, delicious food. If you have visited Mercer's a couple of times, don't be surprised if the waitress remembers your name. Before you know it, you will feel like you are part of the Mercer's family as well!
