How did we get started? The Pandemic caused a lot of people to change how they live, and we were no different. Not being able to go to our favorite restaurants had a major impact on our lifestyle. Due to the time it takes to make Pho the right way, one of our favorite places to eat was our local Pho restaurant. However, once the pandemic was in full effect, this was no longer an option. So what did we do then? The entire family got involved in brainstorming on how we can make AUTHENTIC Pho in a short amount of time to make it convenient for our busy lifestyle. First, we took our family recipe that has been passed down several generations, and started to experiment on ways to make it faster, and not sacrifice flavor, taste or authenticity. Second, we spent time and time again perfecting our process until finally, we hit perfection! What did we do next? We made kits for ourselves, family members, coworkers and friends to enjoy at home. Manuel’s Mexican Food restaurants were established in 1964 at 32nd Street and Indian School Road by Manuel and Alice Salazar. Our desire to serve the community with a friendly atmosphere and to serve our guests with the finest in Mexican food still holds true today as much as it did the first day we opened our doors. As our family grew so did the amount of restaurants. Today, all of the restaurants are owned and operated individually yet collectively by all members of the Salazar family. Manuel’s has received numerous awards for our quality food and we maintain that quality by preparing our food from scratch daily, just as we did in 1964.
